What a wonderful way to learn about our Lord! We are blessed at First Presbyterian Church to offer some fantastic Sunday School Classes and we would love for you to be able to join us. Sunday School meets every Sunday morning from September-May, beginning at 9:30. Come into Pfrangle Hall to enjoy some coffee, donuts and fellowship. After a prayer at 9:45, we will be dismissed to our classes. We can’t wait to see you!
Here are the Sunday School classes that will resume in September:
Nursery (birth-age 3)
God’s Army; Preschool-Early Elementary (age 3 – Kindergarten)
(3 year olds must be potty trained and 3 by Sept 1st, 2010)
Located in the downstairs preschool room with one of our volunteer teachers and a parent support team. The kids in this age group, will be using cooking, crafts, hands-on exploration, story telling, and games to dive into the stories in the bible and really grasp the concepts in ways that are age appropriate for them.
Bible Explorers; Mid Elementary (1st and 2nd grade)
Located at the top of the stairs and to the right in the education building with one of our volunteer teachers and a parent support team. The kids in this age group already have the foundation of the bible and now they will begin diving into the bible for greater understanding, learning the parts of the bible and where the stories are located.
Young Worshipers; Older Elementary (3rd-5th grade)
Located at the top of the stairs and to the left in the education building with one of our volunteer teachers. The kids in this age group already have a strong foundation and bible knowledge. We dig deeper into their own bibles, highlighting important passages, and then have a discussion on how the words in our bible relate to our current life. These older elementary kids are asked to bring their own bibles and highlighter to each class. And since they are still kids too, there are still plenty of crafts, fun and fellowship!
Mid-Sr. High (6th-12th grade)
Located at the top of the stairs and in the computer lab. These young adults are learning how the words in the bible relates to their lives everyday, making connections with God, and making a difference in their lives as well as in others’ lives.
Adult Class; The Shack book study
Located in the church office with Ron and Sue Overcash, this great class in the process of reading the book The Shack, finding the connections between this book and the bible, while having some dynamic discussion. You don’t want to miss this one!

Ray Vander Laan has created an instant sensation in his Faith Lessons DVD’s in which he explores different Biblical topics from on-site locations in Israel. Why is a series like this necessary? Not enough Christians understand the context of various key Bible stories. Once they understand the history behind the words, the Bible really comes alive for them as never before. Using this series in Sunday school, Christian School, home study groups or for self study you will learn the historical, cultural and geographical context of many of the great and inspiring narratives found in the Scriptures. And this knowledge will bring into a deeper knowledge of our LORD and his call on your life.” Product description from Amazon.com
