About Us

Founded in 1975, our preschool is one of the oldest in the community.  The preschool program is a ministry of the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia and our purpose is to provide a high quality academic education integrated with a Christian environment of love, support and acceptance.

Operation Hours

First Presbyterian Preschool is a September through May program that offers children ages three and four preschool education. We are open from 8:00am to 11:30am, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We follow the Desoto County Public Schools holiday and vacation calendar.

Daily Activities

Our daily activities and program consists of a flexible schedule that has been created to provide diversity and challenge for children in all both age groups.  We offer a structured program for the children that include a spiritual and academic curriculum.  Our activities include school readiness skills, arts and crafts, games, music, outdoor play and learning about the Bible.  Chapel services are held weekly by Dr. Ted Land. Stories and scripture about loved Bible heroes, Jesus’ birth and life and God’s love for all mankind are shared with students.

Admission Requirements

Enrollment in our program is open to all families of our community.   We operate on a non-discriminatory basis.  No one shall be excluded from any of our programs because of race, color, religion, disability, sex or national origin.

To enter the three’s classroom your child must be three by September 1st, to enter Pre-K your child must be four by September 1st. We require that all children be potty trained. All forms provided to you upon enrollment must be completed before your child may attend First Presbyterian Preschool.

Parents wishing to enroll their children in the center are encouraged to set up an appointment with the center Director to come and tour the school and meet the teachers.
